Welcome back, weekend warriors! After a week of tackling our daily quests, it’s time to dive into some well-earned gaming marathons. Each week, The Gamerheads Crew brings you a sneak peek into what we’re playing. From nostalgic classics to fresh releases and everything in between, we’ve got quite the lineup. Let’s check out what games are in our sights this weekend and see what’s keeping each of us hooked.
Roger Reichardt - Co-Host/Reviewer: The Steam Deck has been the best and worst thing I've purchased. The best, because I'll be playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard on it this weekend. The worst because I am buying more games (and more games are being added to my backlog). Besides Dragon Age, I'm also playing the slasher puzzle game Slayaway Camp 2. So many puzzles. So much gore. Happy gaming everyone!
Trina - News Corridnator/Reviewer: Oddly enough, I have played a lot of different games this week in small spurts. I booted up Destiny 2 to play the Festival of the Lost event that is all things witchy and spooky. While the event isn't much different than last year in terms of the haunted lost sectors and collecting candy there are new masks and outfits to obtain that I am excited about. I have also finished up Copycat (review coming soon!) that I had a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the entire playthrough. Last but not least, I dived into the mobile game world and downloaded Destiny Rising Alpha and Pokemon TCGP. While Destiny Rising is similar to the Destiny franchise, it has different characters and lore which has been fun to explore. Pokemon TCGP has slowly made me addicted to that card pack opening that I never did as a kid.
Stephanie - Reviewer: Exploration, base building and with a hint of survival has always been on my radar for a game genre combination. And I can confidently say that Planet Crafter has itched that scratch lately and will continue to terraform my love of planets and how they work! There's nothing like going from sand storm after sand storm to rain and eventually seeing fish swim around the lakes, even if it takes a while. Its even better with friends! On the other side of the spectrum, I've been getting that quick dopamine spike from Pokemon's official release of a TCG on mobile devices! Its brings up such a nostalgic feeling of opening booster packs just for that chance of adding a new card to your collection, or even finding that shiny! Plus you get a little bit of battling in it as well. Hope everyone had a great day of spooks and that this weekend treats you well!
Zeb - Reviewer: This has been a busy week of games, first with the new Call of Duty Zombies mode giving me nostalgia for the late nights up with my roommates seeing if we can get just one more round further. My newest addiction has been TCG Shop Simulator and the fact I can play it on my Steam Deck means trouble for my productivity.
Jake - Reviewer: Picked up the new Dragon Age game and have really been enjoying the game! I have always loved the combat of those games. Also have been playing a bit of new Monster Hunter beta as it’s only live for the weekend so have to get my fix in!
And that wraps up our weekend plans! So, what’s in your game queue this weekend? Share your picks with us, and as always, stay safe and game on from The Gamerheads Crew!
