A calming, Zen-like experience is what you’ll find playing LHEA and the Word-Spirit. While the gameplay can become repetitive, the game’s soothing and visually pleasing atmosphere will keep you engaged. This game is a great choice for anyone looking for a calm, low-stress game.

The story follows Lhea who wakes up in the in-between. She is guided by the Word Spirit to guide lost souls to their next life. I started with the full intro, which gave a small background storyline and more in-depth tutorial. There is also an option to complete a brief tutorial, for those who want to jump right in.

After the full intro, I entered the Night Realm. This is where the game is played. There are five objectives to complete the game. The first objective is to seal all five realms: Power Realm, Time Realm, Water Realm, Earth Realm, and Fire Realm. I selected Water Realm first since this is my favorite element. I was immediately impressed by the graphics and sound creating a peaceful, spiritual ambiance.

Diagram of "The Fate Flute" shows presets and options to move, imbue, or upgrade knowledge rings. Text reads: Optimize your Fate Flute.

I defeated the Water Gate to enter the realm and explored all the tiles before entering my next battle. I defeated the soul, transcending it to the next life. As I saved souls, I was able to explore tiles that were previously locked, allowing me to gain knowledge, words to equip to my fate flute, and bonuses to improve my words. Unfortunately, I was only to save about two souls before my essence was drained, and I had to start over. Each time I died and re-born, I gained more knowledge, essence, and power ups, to eventually seal all five realms with one life.

Game scene with characters dueling on yellow platforms, sunflowers, and floating text "BLAZE." Subtext reads "Overcome entities and free lost souls."

The next objective is to seal the transcendence realm, which I needed a few tries to complete since the souls were more powerful in this realm. Once sealed, the next objective is to seal the five realms and transcendence realm multiple times. However, I found this step more enjoyable because I was able to keep words each time, I sealed the transcendence realm allowing me to make a powerful fate flute. The battles and world can get repetitive since you are doing to same objectives repeatedly, but I enjoyed the clam vibes I felt while playing.

Final Grade: B+

LHEA and the Word-Spirit offers a calming and Zen-like gaming adventure, ideal for those seeking a low-stress experience. The soothing graphics and sounds set a peaceful ambiance.

Players explore, battle, and save souls, gaining knowledge and power-ups along the way. Despite repetitive tasks, the game maintains engagement with its peaceful atmosphere. Players repeatedly seal realms, each time becoming stronger and equipping more powerful tools, although challenges increase as they progress. Overall, it's a relaxing gaming journey with a spiritually enriching vibe.
