It’s the 1910s and alcohol is illegal. Speakeasy Simulator puts you at the center of it all by making you run your own speakeasy in the early 1900s. Work with the mafia and grow your capital, while you try to hide from the police.

Speakeasy Simulator is a simulator game which puts you at the forefront of running a hidden bar out of the basement of a cigar shop. I played through the introductory portions of the game which introduced me to the suspicion levels, evading the police, and selling my product to the mafia to earn a quick dollar. I also opened up my own bar quite slowly, with a very small amount of decor. I found the overall police generation to be randomized enough to where I did not know where anything or anyone spawned, which raised the challenge of all of the encounters I had while trying to sell my product to the mafia.

I found the music to be quite well done in the game. It complimented the game very well for the theme and general aesthetics of the “old-time” speakeasy style that the game is trying to replicate. The old style of cars and the general feel outside of the cigar shop also compliment this feel as well. I would have liked a larger, more elaborate map for more things like buying and selling to specific clients (other than the mafia), and having a network of people that you can trust to help run the bar.
Final Grade: B
Speakeasy Simulator was quite a fun game to play and review. I always enjoy a good simulator game and this truly hit the spot. While I did enjoy the randomness with all of the police spawns and trying to deliver more bottles to the mafia, I feel like there’s so much more that can be done to help take the game to the next level. For instance, if I was to make a comparison to other games in this area, house flipper has a little more complexity that I felt like Speakeasy Simulator could incorporate. Overall, it is still a great game, and if you are a fan of the simulator games, like myself, I would definitely recommend trying out Speakeasy Simulator as your next simulator game for you to try.
