Sledding Game Preview: Simplicity at it's Finest

One fateful day, I was scrolling through TikTok and I was greeted by a gentleman talking about a snowy landscape and a frog on a red sled. He talked about this game he had started creating and how he thought it would be cool to just go sledding down a hill with friends.

That's it.

Little did I know, I had caught the very start of development of this game and I decided to follow along. I told everyone about it. It was simple. Grab a sled and go down the hill, all with proximity chat. We couldn't wait. Months later, he released his first demo. Since then, Sledding Game made it's demo debut in this Steam's Next Fest!

The amount of memories I already have purely from sledding down a hill with boosters and a ramp placed at just the right spot to send you flying into the sky, fishing in the numerous little ponds scattered across the demo map to catch the biggest fish, to playing curling and cornhole, and even snowball fights, cannot be counted. This game is pure joy wrapped up in the simplest of tasks; go sledding with your friends.

In the beginning you have a few different, adorable characters to choose from; however, with some puzzles and hidden interacts, you can unlock additional little guys to be. You earn spendable points from, you guessed it, sledding and performing tricks in the air. But you can also earn them from playing the mini games and fishing! These points are used inside the lodge to unlock hats and accessories for your characters, as well as other sleds and placeable items to enhance your experience. I highly recommend giving this game a try while it's still here and to follow it on most social media platforms. There's even a discord!

Sometimes games don't need to have the best graphics or complicated gameplay. Sometimes you just need a couple friends, ragdoll physics, and a sled to have the time of your life.
