Get ready to step into the shoes of a detective on a sleuthing journey by solving a series of murders around the city. Dive into the mystery by examining objects or interrogating people. Uncover hidden clues by selecting underlined words and piece together the puzzle by filling in the blanks with words you’ve found. Keep track of information in your notepad. As the game progresses, so does the murders, each murder becoming more complex. Familiar characters reemerge and a grand conspiracy unraveling. It's an entertaining way to flex your critical thinking muscles without getting overwhelmed. And the best part? The game doesn’t take forever to complete.

I started by solving a crime at a house. There were various rooms to explore, objects or letters to investigate, people to interrogate, and of course, examining the dead body. After collecting all the clues (underlined words), I completed the fill-in-the blank statement which included who did it, how they did it, and why. The information was straightforward, so I didn’t need to use the notepad they provided to keep track of information.

Then it was on to the next case located at a different house with new characters. I completed the same process, but I did use the notepad and suspect tab to keep track of all the characters. The suspect tab allows you to match the first and last name for each suspect. This was extremely helpful since the animation made it hard for me to recall who was who. As I continued through the cases, characters from other cases start popping up hinting that they are connected. The last case I solved tied all the cases together. By the end, I was craving more mysteries to solve.

Final Grade: B
Confidential Killings-A Detective Game offers a taste of deductive reasoning and sleuthing, ideal for those who want a just right challenge, not too easy and not too hard. Its layout creates a smooth process for collecting information and connecting dots. As the game progresses, so do the cases, further challenging detective skills. Overall, it’s a normal difficulty deductive reasoning game that gives you a taste of being a detective.
