Colorful letters spelling "CURIOSMOS" in a playful, cosmic-themed setting with buttons labeled "DISCORD", "PLAY", "WISHLIST", "SETTINGS".

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying outer space has always fascinated me, something about all the potential and mystery of all that space has always left me in wonder if I let myself drift off and think about just how truly small we are in this universe. Curiosmos’ demo captured that wonder I still have but brought with it the magic you see when you’re a child looking up at the stars imagining what could be.

Floating 3D shapes in pink, blue, and purple on a dark purple background, resembling space. A blue abstract head is central. Calm mood.

Starting off I’m already in love with the artstyle that looks like a kid’s play-doh display of cosmic stardust. The Demo itself is very hands off in guiding me what to do, encouraging me to explore what this cute little physics game has for me. With a drag of my mouse, the stardust combines into a little rock with its own gravity. Pulling in dust itself now with a little nudge from my cursor the camera zooms further and further out as this tiny rock keeps swallowing up everything around it until… poof! A perfect circle with a smiling face is looking back up at me. I just made my first planet, and my first impression on this system’s sun, who's very happy for the new friend. I am encouraged  to fling meteors at the new planet to form hills and mountains. Now I’m a kid making a solar system out of clay.

A smiling blue sphere with a face on a purple textured background. A pink triangle shape hovers above. Vibrant and playful mood.

The demo only scratches the surface. After getting my new planet friend an atmosphere and some four legged friends walking around the sun warns of a black hole coming to swallow up my work and that’s where it leaves me. It’ll be fun to expand my alien-filled planets and learn what it takes to stop a black hole in this incredibly cute and chill game.

Happy yellow planet with pink face, blue hills, and lava under a starry sky. Spaceship near an orange sun. Playful, cosmic scene.

Curiosmos currently has no release date but you can currently play the demo on Steam and create your very own play-doh planet.
