Extraction shooters is a genre I haven’t played much of, but at PAX West I had the opportunity to try one of the most robust examples out there: Escape from Tarkov. While I’m no expert (and yes, I died a lot), it’s clear the game has had a tremendous amount of effort and commitment put into it and I can clearly see why so many people enjoy it.

Those familiar with tactical RPGs will feel right at home with Never’s End. But I didn’t expect to find elements of Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom during my time with the demo. While my gameplay didn’t last too long (thanks, permadeath), what I did play impressed me.

Demonschool, the school-life tactics RPG with hints of Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and Italian horror cinema from publisher Ysbryd Games (WORLD OF HORROR, VA-11 HALL-A), will be postponed to Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025.
